As we all know Mango is the King of all fruits and who doesn’t like mangoes. Specially when the ongoing season is the Mango season itself , one can’t resist themselves from falling for them. So that is why FARZI CAFE has come out with a special MANGO MANIA MENU for all the mango lovers. This mango mania with its twist has created some very interesting appetizers, mains and desserts which we got to try.
To start with was their Green Mango and Papaya salad. It was quite refreshing and flavourful indeed where the juliens of mango and papaya was tossed with peanut and mint chutney in it along with crispy lotus stem. Raw mango and mushroom kulcha was also very peculiar in taste, the rustic flavour of mushroom went beautifully with the raw mango mixture though. It was then followed by Spiced chicken meatballs with raw mango and cheese core along with aloo papad beside. As the name says it all, the meatballs were stuffed with cheese and raw mango inside and topped with a sweet mango reduction sauce .Nice balance between the sweet and salty flavours was seen in the dish. Roasted fish tacos were something which really gave us a zesty kick as it had mango salsa in it.
Ghee podi baby idlis ,prepared with raw mango and coconut masala is something not to be missed at all. Next dish joining the Mango mania brigade was Andhra Fish Curry with raw mango and coconut, served with steamed rice. Again here the dish was prepared and presented in way different style than expected, i guess this is what Farzi is all about. The South indian fish curry was incorporated with raw mango along with spices and coconut to give that zesty flavour to this earthy dish. It was served on rice bed and tasted different and even better when Chef suggested to have it with Kachi Ambi ki dal.
After relishing this mangolicious trail, it was now dessert time. Vanilla Pod Cheese cake with Kesari aam ras and Mango & White chocolate popsicle with fresh mango faluda played as perfect ending to this mangotastic journey. Overall a decent approach of team Farzi Cafe to experiment with the fruit of the season “MANGO”.
