Brunch at 24/7 at The Lalit

I was invited to The Lalit , New Delhi for a Sunday special brunch on the Mother’s Day. The 24/7 restaurant is an iconic restaurant serving delightful buffet for decades . There are only few buffet places in Delhi which I recommend as most of them have a cliché menu and really bad food. Talking of star rated places there are only few places which justify their prices.

The spread had Japanese , Lebanese , Chinese, Indian , western , chat section and more . As I recall not many places serve sushi  in the buffet. They also had a Red velvet sushi in vegetarian section. The rice were cooked in beetroot and had cream cheese. They also had a live Aloo tikki section which was made very nice and authentically  qualified as street food rather than mellowed down version for a star rated place.

usually the Indian section served in star rated buffet is not that great. First they serve the usual chicken dishes which gets over cooked by pre heating it and the taste is also not good . 24/7 had majority of Lamb dishes. The menu had Nargis Koft in the menu which is a form of scotch egg or a boiled egg covered with minced meat and fried. It was outstanding and authentic. The buffet also had their star dish   from Baluchi which is Dal Baluchi.

Our Take – The place has great options and the taste has not been compromised. The place is usually packed on Sunday, so don’t forget to make a reservation
