New Town Cafe at Park plaza, Noida is hosting Punjabi food Festival which will be there till 28th February. The whole set up of the restaurant has been turned into a typical Punjabi village, lot of artefacts reflecting Punjabi culture can be seen. Even the servers are dressed up in pathani suits. Overall creating quite eccentric look and feel to the festival.
Well, the festival started with serving Chach to us, followed by the Punjabi appetizers after that. Machi Amritsari, Mal Mal Boti, Chandi wala Murg, Tangdi Palak Wali were few of the best Non veg starters. Well prepared and quite flavourful. Kali mirch da paneer, tikhe mutter k kebab, Tandoori bhutte and Shakarkand masale wali were the delectable veg starters to relish.
Apart from all these there are different live counters also to enjoy some lip smacking stuffs. Like Chaat Chandigarh se counter, from where we enjoyed Palak Patta Chaat, Papdi chaat and some gol gappas. Bathinda Tawa Surmai counter had really very nice and crispy tawa fried Surmai fish, It was my favorite of the lot. Then there was Gurdaspur ka parantha counter from where we had Aloo and Gobhi parantha, which is very staple in every Punjabi household.
Lot of conversation along with good food was sailing the evening quite well. After that for the mains there was a lavish and sumptuous buffet laid down. From which we simply loved Murg Makhani and Dugri rarra Gosht. They both were nicely prepared and went well with the meat pulao and assorted breads. In fact the veg options were quite good too. Paneer saag wala, Patiala bengan and Mushroom mutter makhana stole our hearts completely. Samrala Chowk ki Dal was also worth recommending.
Overall we had an excellent culinary experience at The New Town Cafe. The ending of a beautiful meal happened on a sweet note with Angoori Rabri, Amritsari phirni, Pyaaz Wali kheer and Moong Dal halwa. We definitely recommend this festival to try everyone with your family and friends.
