Thaichi a chapter from #Bloggersontheroad
ThaiChi is a specialty restaurant in Hyatt Amritsar. The interiors are contemporary oriental with influences from china. As the name suggest the Thai- Chi serves authentic Thai and Chinese cuisine. Well authentic Chinese places are hard to run in Delhi without getting the Indian flavors. We had our doubts that about the place getting good business.
As we arrived the restaurant had almost 80% occupancy from the city of Amritsar and foreigners. Our doubts about the food being accepted were diminished and we were all set to begin our meals. We ordered our Drinks, Maneesh stuck to his all-time favorite old monk and Ritu ordered a Rose wine. I wanted to explore their poison mixing and ordered a LIIT. It was a very well made drink which was rightly balanced.
We started with Changrai chicken which is basically battered chicken tossed in sauce with red chili flakes. The chicken was perfectly fried and the sauce was salty, the way it was supposed to be. Sui chikin gyoza (chicken dimsum ) had a perfect sheet and nice fillings. Thai quinoa salad with fresh herbs and lime vinaigrette( english cucumber, red pepper, quinoa lemon dressing) This salad was fresh and tasted good , something which is a must have in summers.
It was a second round for the drinks as my fellow bloggers stick to their previous drinks, I could not afford another LIIT. I asked them to make me something subtle. They came up with a Whiskey sour made up of Jim beam with a Vodka blue colored shot in between. Well it was subtle comparing it to LIIT and tasted very nice.
We proceeded to the mains companied by Noodles and burn garlic rice accompanied by wok tossed shredded chicken with red and green pepper shitake which was brilliantly done and was mildly spiced. Beijing roasted duck tossed with scallion and hoisin sauce was ordered by Maneesh and it was a nice dish with good quality duck which I was surprised but this is Hyatt. Ritu’s choice was Prawn yellow curry which I was not able to taste as I am allergic to Shell fish but it looked nice. I was the only person to order a vegetarian dish on the table which was silken tofu in bean curd.
It was dessert time and I ordered a Pannacota which came in 2 flavors coconut and lemon. The combination was brilliant
