On 30th June, Hero Cycles announced Arjun Kapoor as its new brand ambassador in a grand event at Hotel Lalit, Delhi.
The event was hosted by a renowned magician Tejas who introduced himself with some of his famous card tricks. The crowd was then addressed by Mr. Pankaj Munjal (Co- Chairman & MD of Hero Cycle) who talked about the Hero Cycles history and its present production. Hero Cycles not only holds 35% of the market share; but also is the largest cycle producer in the country. He then talked about how the technology is overpowering our society and that Hero aims to bring the times of cycling back to India.
With Arjun Kapoor’s entry, the entire hall turned enthusiastic and Arjun also kept all his fans happy by cycling among the crowd. He also went on to tell us that he shared a very deep connection with Hero Cycles since a Hero Cycle was his first cycle ever, gifted to him by his father. Speaking about the association he said, “I am extremely proud of this association with the world’s largest cycle brand. I feel cycles are not just a means of transport, but can be one of the best ways to keep fit. I strongly feel cycling should also be taken up by all of us as environment conscious citizens. I am sure that even more and more people will take up cycling in days to come.”
The cycle company also launched India’s first limited edition ‘Celebrity’ sports cycle – named after Arjun Kapoor, labeled ‘AK edition’, at the event. Only 3000 units of ‘AK edition’ Hero Sprit RX-1 sports cycles would be available for fans across the country. These cycles will be adorned with Arjun Kapoor’s signature and will have exclusive new range of colours to choose from. These cycles would be available through online and select Hero Cycles retail stores across India. Mr Pankaj Munjal and Arjun Kapoor also unveiled Hero Cycle’s entry into e-commerce space. The company has tied up Sports365.in, one of India’s leading fitness, recreation and sports-related e-commerce portals, sell its entire range of cycles online. Through this tie-up Hero Cycles will now be available on leading e-commerce platforms like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon, Paytm, HealthKart, etc.
