A small restaurant with limited seating, Big Wong has a pretty good Asian feel to it! The interiors and the ambience go well with the cuisine. The service is good and the waiters are there to politely help you decide your dishes. The drinks menu is limited to soft drinks and fresh lime soda. But that does not come in your way of enjoying the great food they offer. Serving Chinese and Thai cuisine, Big Wong will not disappoint you. It has outlets in Vasant Vihar, Nehru Place, DLF Phase 4 Gurgaon and South City 2 Gurgaon.
We were recommended the Tom Kha Soup first. A perfect Thai coconut soup with shredded pieces of chicken, mushrooms, broccoli, carrot, baby corn and red chillies. It’s a complete must have on the menu.
Famous for its dim sums, we were pretty excited to try them. Big Wong offers you a huge variety of dim sums. Prawn Curry Dimsums were absolutely delicious. It was presented beautifully and the flavour of curry was simply amazing. It is a MUST TRY!
Chicken 5 Spice Dimsums had a very sweet flavour contrary to its name. But we nevertheless loved them.
Veg Cheese Roll- A spring roll sheet wrapped with mozzarella cheese and vegetable stuffing inside went along very well with the red chilli sauce.
Steamed Fish in black bean sauce was a masterpiece. The fish was so soft and it just melted in the mouth. Perfectly seasoned with red chillies and ginger, the dish was a classic.
Chicken Sake Wine was again a starter which had a sweet note to it.
Roasted Lamb Chilli Hoisin was a main course dish. It was a lamb in a gravy with red and yellow capsicum, onions and green vegetables. This dish was served with steamed rice.
Lamb Rendang was another main course dish served with steamed rice. It had lamb chunks cooked in a coconut gravy with lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves. The curry had an authentic Thai flavour and tasted delicious with rice.
Mostly famous for its dim sums, Big Wong has a lot more to offer and surely deserves a try!
