Made in Punjab was one of the few restaurants which opened in Cyber Hub which focused mainly on the food from North India. The highly anticipated venture from Jiggs Kalra has satisfied patrons since the time it has opened up. The food, in every sense is Punjabi which is rich in quality and taste. To celebrate the season of Mango a special menu has been designed by MIP named Aamantra which will have dishes not limited to desserts made from Mango.
In all the dishes the black and yellow aam papad has been used exceptionally well which provides a texture and depth to the dishes.
Aam kadak was made with crispy gram flour flatbread topped with fresh mangoes, aged mango kasundi, sweet mango chutney, assorted greens and cream cheese. The taste was fresh and light
Bhap ki murghi – Peanut coated steamed chicken roulade with aam papad chunks, onions, tomatoes & assorted greens, sweet & sour mango chutney mayo. The chicken tasted brilliant and soft. The sharpness of black aam papad along with fresh mango used in the chutney which balanced the dish quite well
Chat infused with Mango
If you love chat, you would love the taste of fresh mango and tagines of aam papad which adds character to all the chats they have come up with. Our pick out the 3 would be the Samosa chaat.
Ambiyon ki chaat – Lentil bhallas & papdis dressed with sweet & sour yoghurt, aam ki launji, tamarind & raw mango chutney & mint chutney.
Aloo kairi samosa chaat – Potato & raw mango stuffed samosa spheres, spicy chickpeas , mango flavoured yoghurt, mint & tamarind chutney, raw papaya & mango murabba
Aam bhalla – Fresh mango stuffed lentil bhallas dressed with sweet & sour yoghurt, aam ki launji, tamarind & raw mango chutney & mint chutney
The ‘phalraj’ – Rice & mango phirnee topped with crushed mango candy, mango jelly, sweet mango papad & fresh cut mangoes. Phirni is a staple dessert of Amritsar and just the phirini alone would take you back to the small shops in the lanes of Amritsar. This is what I called honest food , nothing too much done to change the authenticity of the phirini
Mango ‘crunch’ narangi – Mango & orange kalakand stuffed filo parcels served with duo of mango & berry creams – There are few people who like high notes of sugar in their desserts and this is the dish which they will love . There is mango and berry cream to cut the sweetness though
The menu is on for a limited period of time – Ek baar aam ka season gaya to Gaya “
