Located in Aditya Mega Mall, Karkardooma, El Posto might seem a little out of the way to those who are used to going to CP, South Delhi, or Gurgaon, but this place is totally worth going to. It is not as difficult to reach here as it is near Karkardooma Metro Station (on blue line). If it still doesn’t work for you, they go to great lengths to get the food, especially cakes, delivered to you.
The ambiance is nice. The ground floor is done in bakery style with a couple of tables, and the first floor is done in diner style. The interiors are very classy. The first floor is done mainly in white and brown and the green plants add to it. They serve Italian, Mexican, and Lebanese along with bakery items.
We started with the Bruschettas. Bruschetta Con Funghi, topped with mushroom and cheese, tastes great. This dish is really likable even if you don’t generally like mushrooms. Very few places can really use mushrooms well, and El Posto is one of them. Bruschetta Chicken Arabiatta is spicy and tangy. The Bruschettas are fabulous.
Next, we tried Veg Chimichanga (a fried burrito dish) and Non Veg Burrito. The Chimichanga looks stunning and tastes equally good. It doesn’t seem oily. The filling is great. It is served with sour cream, guacamole, salsa, a small portion of rice, and red kidney beans. The Non Veg Burrito is really nice too. The tortilla is very soft and fresh.
After this we tried the pizzas. The ‘El Posto Special’ pizza with Spinach, Feta and Mushrooms as toppings is really nice. Like the Bruschettas, the mushroom is done really nicely in this one as well.
For drinks, we tried Italian Smooch and Spicy Tamarind Cooler. The Italian Smooch has ginger flavor to it. The Spicy Tamarind Cooler is tangy with the hint of spiciness of chili at the end of each sip. Both the drinks are refreshing.
A meal at El Posto can never be complete without its amazing desserts. Everything looks so tempting. We tried Red Velvet Pastry, Philadelphia Cheesecake, Banoffee Pie and Milk Chocolate Pasty. The Red Velvet is simply amazing. It is beyond words. Everything is just so perfect. The Cheese Cake, priced at just Rs 150, is value for money. The Banoffee Pie has a very thin base but is really balanced in everything. The Milk Chocolate Pastry is nice and gooey.
El Posto is a very nice place that serves good quality tasty food. Unlike popular belief, it is not an expensive bakery. It is quite economical. The portions are big and the service is good. Mr Prashant, who manages El Posto, is really humble person who ensures that the guests are taken care of. He really knows his food well and ensures quality is delivered. El Posto is a favorite among many reviewers and bloggers, and rightly so.
